"The evening brought out many emotions and even the occasional tear due to the magnitude of what we were experiencing...
a memorable evening."
The Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor of Exeter, Councillor Kevin Mitchell, July 2023.

We hope that our audiences enjoy our concerts as much as we enjoy taking part, and so we aim to perform exciting, varied and innovative choral music to the highest standard, while providing opportunities for others to develop their singing skills and enjoyment through public workshops and open rehearsals. We try to reach the widest possible audience by performing in the best venues in and around Exeter. Our programme of concerts shows that we engage professional soloists and orchestras of the highest quality.

Although the Exeter Festival Chorus is a registered charity, we do not receive financial support from public funds. If we are to maintain our contribution to Exeter’s musical life, we must rely on our own fundraising efforts, donations from the public, and grants received from Trusts in support of our work.

Why do we need support?

We work to raise funds to stage our ambitious concerts; costs for the fees of orchestras and soloists, producing publicity material, and hiring venues are increasing significantly. It is impossible to cover these expenses from ticket sales alone.
